It all started early one morning.
Two very funny ladies, talking about funny accents of people they had worked with in the past, which led to the two very funny ladies reciting their favourite funny movie lines, mine of course was in "Chicken Run".
The two ladies worked away folding, stacking, tirelessly loading trolleys, all the while laughing hysterically at their own banter.
Then it so happened, that one of those very funny ladies that night, had a dream, a dream that would change her life forever, a dream that would cause her to embark on a magnificent quest, embarking on things that she had never done before, a dream that could not be quenched, nor satisfied.
A dream that had her captivated, yet running free, that dream became
DAPHNE!
The story begins on Farmer Henry's farm, Farmer Henry, has 2 coops of chickens, one coop of bantams, that he takes to shows and the other coop of layers, who provide Henry, with rich tasty eggs, which he sells to all those who love them just as much as he does.
Sir Reginald, his only Bantam rooster, wakes Henry up every morning, but this particular morning, he does not....
Henry is woken to the sunlight dancing and tickling his face, what could have happened!
Why hadn't Sir Reginald crowed?
What Henry finds, breaks his heart, his Bantams have all gone, but as he sifts through the feathers and straw, to clean up the coop, Henry finds one little egg, that remained intact, still warm from the layers of feathers and straw, still with life inside.
Henry does, what he thinks is best and places that one remaining egg, under the brooding Matilda, the Matriarch, in the layers coop, one little egg rescued, a life saved, Matilda was totally unaware of the new life that was to come.
Daphne's life is turned upside down, when she is born into a world that does not accept her, she looks different, acts differently and is faced with rejection and bullying from the other chickens.
