Brookfield Blaze

It's no secret, my favourite season is Autumn! I love the fact that we are slowly leaving the heat behind and the colours of the turning leaves just mesmerises my mind, something is sparked in me when I see autumn leaves on the ground, something that takes me right back to childhood, running and playing through piles of crisp, dry leaves with good friends and smokey piles burning, I just get lost in the wonder of it all!

This season has been a bit late coming, we had an extended summer and didn't think the leaves would ever get the memo to turn colour! I had been watching the one Maple tree at work every week waiting rather impatiently for it to start to turn, it's one of those moments that you don't want to miss.

This year the Maple was in full Autumn array on the eve of Winter, it just so happened that it was the day that I did my Site Safety, in which case I always bring my camera to work in case of photographic evidence needed.

I had been taking some photos of some bees in the Calliandra bush, but was failing miserably in the dull light to capture anything, plus getting frustrated at my abilities, so I threw my hands up in the air and started to head to the office to clock off, as I topped the rise, it was as if all the Heavenly Hosts had all started singing "Hallelujah" all at once, I could not believe the beauty of this Maple Tree!

The sun now a small white ball was descending over the mountain ridge of Mt. Cooth_Tha and in its last few rays of brilliance illuminated the Maple leaves, seemingly setting them ablaze, I took as many photos as I could, until the sun dropped over the horizon, immediately taking the golden effects with her.

I felt so blessed to be a part of this nature show, so I share with you what I captured.

I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed taking them!!
