One Great White Egret had the whole area to itself, this bird had a buffet that any bird would be envious of!
The Great White Egret is a member of the Heron family, their long spindly toes make it easy for them to walk on top of the lillies and their sharp beak is like a built in spear.
I got to sit and watch this bird for around 20 minutes, it was then that I noticed some of its behaviours, which allowed me to be ready for the next strike, I don't know if all Egrets do this, but this one had some moves!
The Egret would stop, look, then its long neck started wiggling like a snake, like when you see the cobras come out of the snake charmers baskets, it went from side to side, like as if it were honing in, following its preys every move, then BAM!!!!
I could not get over the look of determination in its eye, this bird was a great hunter, this poor lizard never stood a chance, in a vice like grip, whipped from side to side before the big slippery slope down into the tummy of a very satisfied bird!
